Comedy seems to be the flavour of the month and our favourite haunt aka Tagore Theatre is not something to be missed!
You’ve seen him on your tv, you’ve followed him on social media, so why miss out on watching him live? Stand up comedy artist of international repute and a senior amongst today’s generation of Indian artists, Vir Das is currently travelling with his latest special “Abroad Understanding”.

A Bollywood actor and YouTube personality wrapped in one, Vir Das is most popularly known for his roles in Delhi Belly, Go Goa Gone, and his weekly YouTube podcast with a pun, aka #POTCAST.
Still not convinced? Well, if you look him up on Netflix, you’ll find him categorised with the likes of Russell Peters, Kevin Hart, and Amy Schumer – some of today’s top comedians in the west. Mind you, he’s the first Indian comedian to have his own show on Netflix. From arranged marriages to religion to Trump and Modi jokes, Vir Das will have you laughing as easily at current affairs as he will at gharelu comedy.
Those familiar with Das’ work will recognize him from his stints on Comedy Central, or his previous specials like “Walking on Broken Das”, “Battle of Da Sexes”, and “History of India: VIRitten”.
With comedy festivals popping up across the city, here’s an independent gig for those not interested in experimenting with live comic acts of the young and new inexperienced comics. In 2017, Variety Magazine ranked Das as one of the top ten comedians to watch out for on the international arena. So let nothing stop you from attending this wonderful event.
