To abolish the drug menace in Punjab, the Gillco Group, headquartered at Mohali, is coming up with a marathon titled \u201cPunjab Winter Half Marathon<\/strong><\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

This running sensation will thrive enthusiasm in participants on the occasion of Republic day- 26 January 2020 at Gillco Parkhills, Mohali. A marathon that you can\u2019t miss will let you roar the roads with courage, wisdom, and patriotism, where Defence Forces and the Youth of Punjab can have the maximum participation.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The organizer is expecting the participation of nearly 1000 runners in this first edition of a marathon, experiencing a patriotic morning. Punjab Winter Half Marathon is an initiative with the underlying theme- Drug-Free land in Punjab and its surroundings. This event aims at preventing youth from turning to drugs and crime. Along with it, the marathon also encourages the importance of fitness and sports.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

There will be a warrior run of 21KM starting at 6:30 AM, spirit run of 10 KM at 6:00 AM, and a cool run of 5KM at 6:45 AM. The event is open for men, women, and children where the minimum age limit for 5 KMS, 10 KMS, and 21 KMS respectively is 10 years, 12 years, and 15 years. Well, a fun run of 3 KM is a non-timed run. The marathon is not a competition; however, professional athletes can take part.<\/p>\n

Running in a marathon needs your attention to some crucial aspects. Do not run in a marathon if you are not well. Participants should have a light breakfast before leaving for the event. The event is full of zeal, spirit, and fun, which depicts the picture of Republic day celebration with your footsteps. Thus, participating in such a marathon once in a lifetime will let you go ecstatic and gives you the confidence of running miles.<\/p>\n
