At present, water which is meant for drinking is being diverted for other purposes like gardening and irrigation of green spaces in various sectors across Chandigarh.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Tertiary Treated (TT) Water In Chandigarh Parks<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Smart City CEO Anindita Mitra said that tertiary treatment of sewage will improve the environment of city as the TT water is rich in nitrogen\/manure and plants\/grass will flourish by its use.<\/p>\n<p>Many cities around the world are using recycle\/TT water to reduce their water demands. Here are a few <span style=\"font-size: 1rem;\">possible uses of sewage water, which has received tertiary treatment:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 1rem;\">Gardening<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 1rem;\">Roadside arboriculture<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 1rem;\">Green belts<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 1rem;\">Landscaped water bodies with fountains<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 1rem;\">Washing of roads, vehicles, etc<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 1rem;\">Aquifer recharge<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 1rem;\">Cooling water for HVAC systems where substantial quantity of water would be lost by evaporation<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 1rem;\">Various industrial processes<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><strong>Chandigarh Bags \u2018Best Urban Body\u2019 Title\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\n<div class=\"full-width-img py-3\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/www.citywoofer.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/water-award3-671x400.jpg\" alt=\"Chandigarh Bags \u2018Best Urban Body\u2019 Title\" width=\"671\" height=\"400\" \/><\/div>\n<p>The efforts of the Municipal Corporation of Chandigarh (MCC) bore fruit with appreciation coming its way in the form of a national award. It been adjudged the \u2018Best Urban Local Body\u2019 at the prestigious 4th National Water Awards.<\/p>\n<p>The award ceremony was organized under the aegis of the Department of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation, Ministry of Jal Shakti, Government of India.<\/p>\n<p>The award was received by Chandigarh Mayor Anup Gupta and Municipal Commissioner Anindita Mitra from Vice-President of India Jagdeep Dhankhar, at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi. The award carries a citation, trophy and a cash prize of Rs 2 lakh.
