The seasonal Sukhna stream flows into the lake down from the Shivalik Hills. The place is absolutely surreal and beautiful. It is surrounded by lush greenery from almost all sides and it turns into a fitness playground in the morning and the perfect spot for beautiful sunsets in the evening.

Sukhna Lake is very easy to reach. It is located in Sector 4 of Chandigarh. There is no entry fee. However, there is a fee for school buses which is INR 50, and for private buses which is INR 200. The timings of Sukhna Lake are 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. the area is around 3 km square and the biggest USP of this place is the colourful boats and amusement park located right in the beginning. Yes, it welcomes you with a big entertainment venue with a lot of shops, several activities, restaurants, and cafes and a lot of colour and happiness.

The Best Time To Visit The Sukhna Lake

The best time to visit Sukhna Lake is all around the year. It gets exceptionally beautiful during the rains. You can sample the best street foods like gol gappas, sev chaat, aloo pakoras, chana masala, spicey corns, and more. As the month of autumn set in, the weather and the entire setting change. You can see the true and the most beautiful colours of this lake during these months. February, March, and April are said to be the most colourful because this is when the grass is the greenest and the sky is flawlessly blue.

The distance of Sukhna Lake from Chandigarh Airport is around 22 km which is going to take you 36 minutes to reach with moderate traffic. If you are taking a cab from the railway station, it is going to take you around 14 minutes to reach Sukhna.
