🏞️ Dudhsagar Ultra Trail 2026 – Run Through the Heart of the Western Ghats
Beyond Goa's famous beaches, vibrant nightlife, and coastal charm lies a hidden world of dense forests, rugged trails, cascading waterfalls, and breathtaking wilderness. Welcome to Dudhsagar Ultra Trail 2026, an unforgettable trail-running adventure that takes you deep into the scenic landscapes of the Western Ghats, one of the world's most celebrated biodiversity hotspots.
At the center of this experience stands the magnificent Dudhsagar Waterfall, a spectacular four-tiered waterfall located on the Mandovi River near the Goa-Karnataka border. Translating to "Sea of Milk," Dudhsagar is one of India's tallest and most beautiful waterfalls. As the water crashes down the rocky cliffs, it creates a mesmerizing white curtain resembling a flowing sea of milk.
🌿 The Legend of Dudhsagar
According to local folklore, the name "Dudhsagar" originated from a beautiful legend. It is said that a princess, daughter of a king from the Ghats, would regularly bathe in a nearby lake while her attendants carried a jug of milk. One day, as a prince passed by and noticed her presence, the attendants poured the milk into the water to shield the princess from view and protect her modesty. The flowing white milk gave rise to the name Dudhsagar – The Sea of Milk.
