Gippy Grewal To Share Screen with Son Shinda Grewal in ‘Shinda Shinda No Papa’

Punjabi superstar Gippy Grewal is all set to create a buzz with his upcoming Punjabi film ‘Shinda Shinda No Papa’ which would be released next year on Baisakhi. The movie will star Gippy Grewal in the lead role alongside his son Shinda Grewal. This is the first time father-son duo will be together sharing the screen.

The film is based in the UK and moves to India revolving around a father trying to get his naughty son on the right track.

Like his previous films, the popular star said he wants his upcoming project to provide “complete entertainment” to the audience.

Commenting on his film’s story, Gippy said, “I thrive to give complete entertainment to my audiences, and ‘Shinda Shinda No Papa’ is no exception. The film has a rollercoaster of emotions between a father and his son, the movie shows how a father manages his disobedient son while moving from the UK to India.”

‘Shinda Shinda No Papa’ is produced by Yoodlee Films and will debut in theatres on the festive day of Baisakhi on April 14, 2023.

Chandigarh: The 10-day festival of Ganesh Chaturthi has already kickstarted in the City Beautiful. This year, Ganesh Chaturthi will be celebrated on August 31. With just a week left for the festival, one can see the markets and temples buzzing with festive vibes. Artists from different states have arrived in Chandigarh for preparing Ganesha idols. There is a lot of enthusiasm among the city residents for placing Ganesh idols at their home. People from adjoining districts of Punjab and Haryana are also coming to Chandigarh to buy Ganesha idols.

A family of artists from Rajasthan is here in Chandigarh especially for idol making. They are making these idols using the clay from Rajasthan and colours from Mumbai. Interestingly, the preparations of the idols usually starts 6 months before Ganesh Chaturthi. One can see these idols being prepared and displayed at Chandigarh-Zirakpur highway.

Most of the artists these days are choosing to make eco-friendly idols. According to them, the Eco friendly idols dissolve quickly in water. After 2 years of pandemic restrictions, the enthusiasm for Ganesh Chaturthi seems to have multiplied exponentially this year.

The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi dedicated Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital & Research Centre to the Nation at Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, Mohali today. Governor of Punjab, Shri Banwarilal Purohit, Chief Minister Shri Bhagwant Mann, Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh were among those present on the occasion.

Air ForceSpeaking on the occasion, PM Modi said that today’s event reflected the improved healthcare facilities of the country. He said that this Cancer hospital will cater to the healthcare needs of the people of Punjab, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh. He also thanked the people of Punjab for their enthusiastic participation in the “Har Ghar Tiranga” Campaign.

Talking about the preventive healthcare approach, PM Modi said that due to the Jal Jeevan Mission, the number of patients suffering from waterborne diseases has gone down considerably. Similarly, cleanliness, Yoga, fitness trends, Poshan Abhiyan, Cooking gas etc. have also improved the health quotient of people. He emphasised that it is important to build a hospital and it is equally important to have a sufficient number of good doctors, and other paramedics as well.

The Prime Minister added that the Ayushman Bharat Digital Health Mission is ensuring every patient gets quality healthcare facilities, on time, with minimum hassle.

Chandigarh: Chandigarh’s lifeline Sukhna Lake which is already a favourite tourist destination is all set to offer more. The lake is flocked by tourists for exciting sports activities including boating and kayaking. Adding more flavour and fun, a Fish Cafe is being planned at Sukhna Lake for those who are fond of fishing and enjoy eating fish as well.

Air ForceThe fish seed farm at the regulatory end of Sukhna Lake will be upgraded. This will be done to promote aquaculture and fishing activities. Experts from Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana visited the fish seed farm and toured the entire infrastructure. The administration accepted the proposal given by the Dean of the University to upgrade the farm.

Advisor Dharam Pal held a meeting with the officials on this proposal that promotes eco-tourism. The Dean has given a plan to build a state-of-the-art Public Aquarium. Director Animal Husbandry said that a Fish Cafe will be built here where the facility of fish catching and cooking will be provided. Initially, Gambusia fish will be promoted as it also contributes to the prevention of dengue malaria mosquito. The Advisor has approved the signing of the MoU with the University of Ludhiana.

Chandigarh: For the first time, Air Force Day will be celebrated outside the Hindon base of Ghaziabad. Chandigarh has been chosen as the city to celebrate Airforce Day and Sukhna Lake will host the Air show. A meeting between Dharampal, Advisor to the Administrator and officers of the Air Force took place on Monday and officials also visited the Sukhna Lake. As per preliminary information, the main program will be held on October 8 and rehearsal will take place on October 6 at Sukhna Lake.

Air ForceDuring the meeting, a presentation was given by the Air Force regarding the entire program. It was told that on October 6 and 8, an air show will be organized for more than an hour, which will include advanced fighters, transport aircraft, helicopters and Surya Kiran aerobatics team. Apart from this, a half-hour program will be organized by the Galaxy Paratrooper team before the start of the air show. School children will be invited to participate in the air show on both the days. Every year Air Force Day was celebrated at Hindon base but Prime Minister Narendra Modi had asked to organize it in other cities as well.

The air show was also held on September 22 last year but the October one is going to be a bigger event.

Chandigarh: BJP leader, Bigg Boss fame and Tiktok star Sonali Phogat has died of a heart attack in Goa. Her brother Watan Dhaka has confirmed the news of the death. Phogat is survived by a daughter. Her family left for Goa the moment they got the News.

Sonali PhogatSonali started her career with anchoring in the year 2006. She used to host shows for Hisar Doordarshan. Two years later, in 2008, she joined BJP. In 2019, she contested the assembly elections from Adampur on a BJP ticket. Sonali had done Punjabi and Haryanvi films, and music videos. Her maiden film ‘Choriyan Choron Se Kum Nahi Hoti’ was released in 2019. As a contestant in Bigg Boss, she got the viewers’ support owing to her mental strength. She had shared how people tried to harass her after her husband’s death.

She was again in News during farmers’ protests when she supported the three Farm laws. The reason for her death is still not clear even though Twitter was full of tweets about her death by cardiac arrest.

Change in Speed Limit Rules in Chandigarh, Drive Vehicles Outside Schools and Hospitals at the Speed of 25 Km/Hour

The speed of vehicles will have to be kept at 25 kms per hour while passing in front of schools and hospitals in the city. Notification regarding the same has been issued by the administration.

The new rules of speed limit will be implemented in the entire city from tomorrow i.e. 23rd August. In such a situation, from tomorrow, the drivers will have to take special care about which roads of the city have schools and hospitals. Traffic police will deduct challans of drivers who will be seen not following the new rules.

Let us tell you that with the help of CCTV cameras, challans are being deducted in the city. Helmets have now been made mandatory for women and children above four years of age. In such a situation, those driving on the roads of the city will now have to drive the vehicle with more caution. Otherwise, you may have to face the process of legal action along with heavy fines.

Chandigarh had implemented new rules in April 2022 itself by amending the speed limit rules. According to the new rules, the maximum speed limit for vehicles with a capacity of up to eight passengers on a road with dividers has been kept at 60 kmph. The speed limit has been fixed at 50 km on city internal roads (single road) and 40 km on sector roads. Vehicles with a capacity of more than nine persons can travel at a speed of 50 km on a road with dividers and 40 km on a single road and an inside sector road.

Chandigarh: To keep a check on the security search operations are being conducted in Mullanpur and all the surrounding areas of the city. Sniper commands are deployed at suspicious places. On August 24, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is coming to inaugurate the Cancer Hospital in Medicity.

The entire New Chandigarh area has been converted into a cantonment. Police personnel have been deployed all around. The venue has a two-way street. The road has been closed half a kilometer before by barricading from both the sides.

A road leads directly to the rally site. It will be opened to the general public. Many religious places in the area are also being monitored by the police. Policemen in plain uniform have been deployed at many places. Many top officials of the administration are taking stock of the preparations on the spot.

Preparations are going on in full swing for the Prime Minister’s rally from the helipad to the stage. A 40 feet long, 20 feet wide and 10 feet high stage is being prepared for the public meeting of the Prime Minister. Arrangements have been made for people to sit in front of it by placing 5000 chairs. In front of the rally venue itself, a helipad is being prepared for the Prime Minister.

Sukhna Waters of Tricity Host Tuffman India 2nd Edition of Triathlon

On Sunday the waters of Sukhna Lake, Chandigarh witnessed a history by hosting its first ever, 3 hours long private event. Tuffman India organised its 2nd edition of the 113-km triathlon in Chandigarh and Mohali. The triathlon included a 1.9km swimming circuit, followed by 90-km of cycling and a half-marathon (21.1km). Athletes from all over the country participated with enthusiasm and displayed their talent.

The swimming stretch of the triathlon was held at Sukhna Lake at 6am on Sunday, after which athletes started on the cycling circuit on the Kurali-Chandigarh Road. From Sukhna Lake the cyclists went to New Chandigarh via Mullanpur Circle, Matka Chowk, Madhya Marg. After parking their cycles back at Oberoi Sukhvilas, they started their run towards Baddi- Kurali Road in loops till their respective distances, finally finishing the triathlon race in the campus of the Oberoi Sukhvilas.

There were five categories of triathlon and duathlon. The 113km triathlon (1.9km swim, 90-km cycling and 21.1-km run), Olympic triathlon (1.5-km swim, 40-km cycling and 10-km run), sprint triathlon (0.75-km swim, 20-km cycling, 5-km run) and Olympic duathlon and sprint duathlon. Around 125 triathletes from across the country competed in different categories.
