Nobody is unaware of the Dharavi slum in Mumbai which is one of the world’s largest slums. It is one of the most densely populated areas in the world.
Founded in 1884 during the British colonial era, it has an informal economy of its own in which numerous household enterprises employ many slum residents in leather, textiles and pottery products which are made in Dharavi.
The total current population of Dharavi slum is unknown because of the floating population of migrant workers. The voter turnout of 2019 state legislative assembly election was 119,092, which is only an indication of its population.
Dharavi residents would lap this web series with none other than Suniel Shetty playing the untouchable 63-yr old villain Thalaivan who is in charge of a 30,000-crore empire . Vivek Anand Oberoi plays JCP Jayant Gavaskar, who is on a mission to neutralise Thalaivan and his enemies at all costs.
Speaking about essaying Thalaivan, Suniel Shetty said, “He is powerful, ruthless and is also the most giving to those he considers his family, the people of Dharavi. Through the making of the show, I realized how OTT allows you to really deep dive into your character and Thalaivan made for the perfect digital debut for me.”
